Sounds like a brilliant move if it happens - and exactly what we should be doing with our youths
Big club like Leeds would be brilliant for our youth players to get real valuable experience, and area we have really lacked in. ⚒️⚒️

Leeds interested in Birmingham’s George Hall and West Ham’s Sonny Perkins

Leeds United’s academy recruitment is set to continue apace this summer with the club lining up deals for Birmingham City’s George Hall and West Ham United’s Sonny Perkins.

The Elland Road club are looking to seal the signing of both midfielders in this transfer window, extending the recent raft of additions to their Under-23 ranks.

Perkins, 18, is a regular for West Ham’s development squad and was named Premier League 2’s player of the month for April this season.

He made his full professional debut in the Europa League against Dynamo Zagreb in December and appeared as a late substitute during Leeds’ Premier League win at the London Stadium the following month.

He was also on the bench for both legs of West Ham’s Europa League quarter-final tie against Lyon.

Seventeen-year-old Hall has a small amount of first-team experience of his own having broken into Birmingham’s side for the first time in January.

He was handed a second senior appearance last month.

Leeds have moved quickly on the first-team recruitment front since the final weekend of the 2021-22 Premier League term, securing a deal for Brenden Aaronson from RB Salzburg and moving for another Salzburg player, right-back Rasmus Kristensen, but they have spent steadily on their academy teams in the past few years and intend to invest on that front again.

Hmm! Surely if Leeds are willing to pay Perkins more plus the tribunal transfer fee, his wage demands are NOT too high for them?
